Still in Virginia!
June 28- 30th - Still in Virginia! Just relaxing and doing some little fun things. Went to the Safari Drive-Thru Zoo, posting some photos, really fun! Of course there is the obligatory photo of the King and Queen (we could barely get our heads into this display LOL). Then we were off to our next stop in Staunton/Walnut Hills, Virginia, really nice campground. Spent the day on the 30th in Monticello touring Thomas Jefferson’s Plantation and retirement home. Although Les is somewhat of a history buff, we were intrigued by how brilliant he was (Jefferson that is). Not too many photos of the house and none of the inside because they were not allowed. On a personal note, our tour guide was a wonderful speaker and storyteller, probably late 60’s and probably a retired professor…she was a little vertically challenged and reminded all three of us of my Aunt Louise who also is a retired professor. When Louise would visit us in Florida she and Les would often go on day trips together to some historical site. Les would say that it was like going on a Field Trip! Anyway, a walk down memory lane…but Monticello is a place where all Americans should visit.

Sounds like you're having wonderful time! Quite different scenery from last year's trip, especially the King and Queen (thought you were in England!)
